Recent studies have shown..........

It turns out, they left another important tidbit out of the instruction manual that came with these babies. You should never turn your back because you never know where you will learn valuable information. It just so happened that today I got some shocking information and I just might have to write an angry letter to the baby owners manual author and/or publisher for leaving this information out. I should preface this information that I am about to share with this.......I always say they make 'em cute for a reason (meaning the babies) well the same holds true for little old ladies!!!
So, Ella and I went out to Costco and the supermarket this afternoon and left Edie home with daddy. As she and I were standing in the check out line -- well she was lying in line......in her carseat. Anyhoo.....we were minding our very own business when this adorable little busy body elderly lady decided she should come around and check out the blue eyed beauty I had in my cart. Harmless enough. Right? Wellllllllllllllllllll.
busy body blue haired cute lady: oh how cute.
me: thank you very much.
ella: nothing -- she doesn't talk yet.
busy body blue haired cute lady: my he sure is handsome.
me: sh
busy body blue haired cute lady: what a handsome little boy. (to Ella) you sure are a handsome little boy.
me: nothing.....i mean what's the point?
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT SHE LOOKED LIKE... SAME OUTFIT ONLY IN A CARSEAT. WHICH IS PINK!!!
Now refocus and look again.......one more time. All girl right??????????
But wait there is more. This cute little lady shared with me what could be some life saving advice. I guess I shouldn't make too much fun of her.
Did you know that they are finding the cause for the recent rash of cataracts that babies are getting? It's because we have no ozone layer......so you should NEVER and she repeats NEVER take a baby out without shielding their eyes. Yeah seriously......infant cataracts. Who knew? Also, all those shots they give to babies.....well, well, well. Did you know that"it used to be 1 in 2000 and now it's 1 in every 300 babies CATCH autism from all the shots. It's the murr curry (aka mercury) so make sure to ask for the ones that don't have murr curry"!!
Now don't you agree.....I mean shouldn't they have included that in that book?
She was a sweet little lady......who meant well......but that does not make her immune from my teasing!!! Now here are some cute pictures of my little handsome son Ella......
And to keep all feelings unhurt........Edie too
A little after dinner relaxation...I mean does it get any cuter than this???

I swear (I hate to swear, well not really)- some people! And who knew about the cataracts - never heard that one.

Hilarious....and I'm sure a bit annoying. At least you maintain a good sense of humor about the whole thing. Probably depends on the day, right?

Thanks for your comments in my blog! I'm glad I found your blog and look forward to reading more.

Oh, she was probably just focusing on the green in the leaf and stem of the flowers on Ella's dress.

I had someone tell me that you can "catch" autism from all vaccines. Being in the disability research field, luckily I had a crapload of evidence and peer-reviewed studies to reference at the tip of my fingers. People are ignorant!

Love the baby back bumbo shot.

I love the bumbo pic :)

We were on the elevator at the hospital with Brooklyn and she was waring a pink outfit, pink bow, pink blanket, pink burp cloth laying there....and this old lady says, "Little boy or little girl?"

Hahha that's funny, but I can relate. Veronica was always mistaken for a boy as well. Pink dress, pink blanket, pink everything, and people would call her a "he" or ask if it was a boy or a girl. There's a lady at the gym who sees us every day, and Veronica in a DRESS, is still called her "HIM!"

What is with old people? I would hear the same comments as my daughter was in head to toe pink.

Here from ICLW. I think you have the cuties babies. My own name was an E cubed before I got married! I love e names.

I have to say I would find that totally annoying. I have a dog (granted yes, not a baby in clothes) and I find it annoying when people think she is a boy. I guess I shouldn't have named her Riley!

Too funny! Did she also touch your baby the whole time she was talking to you and you cringed just thinking what kind of gross slime she had previously pulled from her large, wrinkled nose? LOL.

gah! wtf is wrong w/ people??!! why would you put a boy in an entire pink outfit? and, if i hear one more person spouting off about autism and vaccines when they obviously haven't done their research, well, i might start bitch slapping. even if you are too old to see it coming:)

Okay - you honestly have to submit that last one where they're watching TV sitting up in their little things to a contest. I am so serious. I even had to show my husband because when I just looked at them I squeeled and he was like what the heck are you looking at? So I showed him and he was like that is so freakin cute! My sister just bought us a pink one of those from Target - very cool can't wait to use it on Spot.

Oh as far as the lady - isn't it amazing what people will say? I mean come on - can she look anymore like a little girl? The older lady must certainly have cataracts herself and be legally blind I am hoping that is why she couldn't tell, LOL! Ah, I always say you'll never know what you'll run into at Costco or Meijer. My husband says I get Costco rage instead of road rage because people are crazy and annoy me there :-) Yet we still go.
