bye bye Christmas....

Well Christmas has come and gone, sadly enough. I took down our decorations today and put the tree outside to be picked up by the sweet little girl scouts. We are sad to see it all go but very happy to have the corner that it took up back because..........for Christmas E Squared got the COOLEST thing......well lets change that to several cool things but this one thing spruces up the family room...............here is Ella saying cheese and giving you a tiny peek......

we've got letters, numbers and colors galore........this cushy cozy mat fits perfectly in the little area that I WAS going to put a nice bookcase BUT.....well as those with little ones know....plans change OFTEN!!!

I decided to make grilled cheese sandwiches for Edie and Ella to see if they would like it.....I mean of course I knew they would.....who doesn't like cheese right? Well unfortunatly the only cheese I had was cream cheese.....well who doesn't like warm, gooey creamy creamy cheese.....which leads me to my first New Years resolution......but that's a different post. Anyway.........see for yourself.........did they like it???

We listen to our XM satellite music quite often here and on our tv screen the little box that displays the artist/title info bounces back and forth on the screen.....sort of like that old computer game pongo.....well apparently this can be quite amusing to a 9 month old sweetie pie because I found Edie sitting like this.......

watching the box and C.R.A.C.K.I.N.G. U.P.......I mean hysterical belly jiggle laughter.

Finally some Christmas morning pictures......I worked 12 hour shift the last few days so I haven't been able to get around to posting pics....we had a great day. Lot's of fun gifts...Edie and Ella each ate their weight in wrapping paper so they had a MARVELOUS day! The got their first anywhere chairs with their names embroidered on them and Jon bought them each an adorable homemade quilt from a nice lady at the Farmers Market. They got lots of clothes and fun things from family.........it was a good first Christmas....much more exciting for me and Jon than the girls though. Just a quick post to show off our Christmas pjs...then I have to run to bed...because, well you know. Santa Claus is coming tonight...Ella in only in one picture because she was super grumpy...we'll see what Santa leaves for that naughty little girl.

Almost Christmas.........

I heard the best story yesterday. My good friend and her 8 year old were chatting about Christmas recently and she told him that Santa might be on a budget this year. He said to her "Mommy, is Santa affected by all of this economy stuff too?"......to be able to talk about the woes of our economy yet still believe in Santa is AWESOME!!!
The little Marbut girls are awesome as well...they are soooooooooo mobile and extremely curious. This is a very fun stage for us...
I swear we should have named Edie .......Johnnie. Right?

Sorry it's a little long -- I actually tried to just post the second half but I am not smart enough to figure out how......it's cute though so take a little 2.5 minute break and enjoy my kid......

9 month update.....wah?!!??!!?

9 months! NINE! When did that happen???
We had their 9 month well baby check up today and threw in a little flu shot just for fun!!! Both girls are doing great...growing well and right on schedule. Our pediatrician was very pleased with everything. Here are their stats:
Edie...27 inches.....that's over 2 feet tall people!
19 pounds 10.5 ounces = bitchin mommy biceps
17.5 cm round noggin
Ella...26 inches.....still. over 2!!!
16 pounds 12 ounces....I thought for sure she weighed more than that
17.5 cm .....also big noggin
Now here is some picture fun...
Ella has been quickly catching up to her sister motor wise...she crawls and sits very well and now she is starting to try pulling up.......she gets up on her knees so far but I suspect she will be fully standing real quick. I love this picture...it seems that Edie is trying to help her......notice of course that Edie has her sock hanging from her mouth.
And here it seems that Ella pushed Edie out of the way and is saying "go on I can do it myself"...
